If you don’t like Medellin, you won’t like Heaven.

Medellin, Colombia is the second largest city in Colombia,it is the capital of the Department of Antioquia. In the 1980's into the early 90's is was one of the most dangerous cities in the world. It was so dangerous due to the Medellin cartel,a Colombian drug trafficking cartel run by Pablo Escobar. In this moment in time it's a very safe city, but like any other city any where in the world, there are parts that you shouldn't go into. Medellin is one of the cleanest cities I have been to in Colombia. The Metro is the mass transit system in the city it has a tram system and also cable cars. The Metro and all of it's stations are so clean,it's unbelievable. The city's average annual temperature is 72 °F, and because of its proximity to the equator, its temperature is constant year round, with minimal temperature variations. Temperatures range from 59 to 86 °F. Because of the pleasant springlike climate all year, Medellín is known as 'La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera' or 'City of the Eternal Spring'. However, as the city is located in a valley and many of its neighborhoods are on slopes, temperatures can be slightly cooler on the surrounding mountains.

Rebellious or Non-Conformist.

Are you rebellious or a non-conformist. Are you against all authority or against the status quo?  Today as I was walking along the paths of a park I started thinking about my life and this is what became a realization to me. For most of my life people have said to me, you are so rebellious. So after awhile I began to believe what they were saying, that I was a rebellious person. I even started telling people how rebellious I was as a kid and growing up. As I look back at my life, this was not true, I wasn't rebellious at all what I was was a non-conformist. A non-conformist is a person who does not conform to a generally accepted pattern of thought or action the status quo. A rebel or rebellious person is: a person opposition to one in authority or dominance. I am not opposed to authority, on the contrary. What I am opposed to is people that want to put  me or others  in some kind of box. The Bible says: don't be conformed to this world and it's ways of thinking. If a person does not fit into what people think the norm is, then they mark you as a rebel or being rebellious. Do not take what I'm saying wrong. There are people that are abnormal and just plain weird. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Bizarre Foods

Stuffed chicken heads and necks!

What is bizarre foods? What is bizarre for one region is simply normal for another. The Travel channel and Andrew Zimmern have made whole show about this. Eating weird foods in different countries, well missionaries have been doing that for years. Some of the first advice I received before going on the mission field was from two great missionaries. #1. Don't ask what it is.( you most likely won't want to eat it after know what it is). #2.Never go and look were it was cooked or how it was cooked. ( same as #1). #3.Always carry a bottle of Tabasco sauce. ( Tabasco sauce will kill or mask the taste of most everything ). #4. Always drink Coke Cola because it has enough stuff in it to kill the germs. So if you are traveling around the world or just to another region in your own country maybe you might want to consider these 4 suggestions. Bon Appetite!

Living!

Today on Twitter there was a post from the Art of Non-Conformity. It really started me thinking about the question he ask. The question was: So what do you think—what’s truly worth living for? Here is quote from Hunter S. Thompson ; Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!" That's the point of life to live it,not to just survive,to live a life of mediocrity the choice is yours and mine. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller

Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan!

There was a large 8.9 earthquake and tsunami in Japan which has caused widespread damage. As the Body of Christ we need to pray for all the people of Japan and the Pacific. I have been through a few earthquakes in Guatemala and it is not cool. Let us help the people in any way we can.

Colombia Once Again.

Back in Colombia once again. Here we are back in Colombia, traveling from one end to the other. Started off in Bogota where the weather was cool to very cool. Now I am in the north coast of Colombia, in Sincelejo which is a very hot all the time. I have been traveling with 12 other people. We have been doing revival meetings and ministering in churches. Monday we had a day off after 12 days of meetings. So we went to the beach which is in Covenas about a 45 minute drive from Sincelejo. And now we are headed to Cartagena for a wedding of a good friend. We just returned from four days in Villavicenico, during which we did six meeting in the four days. It was a wonderful trip we made some new friends saw some old friends and preached the word of God. Our next trip is to Medellin to celebrate the 4th anniversary of Los Milagoros de Cristo. Then we return to Bogota and minister at three other churches.

Don’t Lose Your Garden.

Don’t lose your garden. You are probably wondering, “ What’s he talking about – lose what garden?” Well let’s look at a garden and how to lose it. There was this couple that lived in a beautiful garden. They had everything a person could ask for, and then one day everything changed. They couldn’t live there anymore – they lost everything! So how did they lose this garden? They lost it through unbelief – God told them they should not eat from one tree, the tree of knowledge of good and evil. All the devil did was to say to Eve, “Did God really say” and that is all it took for her to doubt God’s word. That is what he (the devil) says to us today. “Did God really say?” And this will cause you to lose your garden just as Adam and Eve lost the Garden of Eden. Your Garden of Eden is the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Not TRUSTING in God will cause you to lose your love, joy, and especially your peace. Fear and worry will cause you to live in your own private hell. It’s your choice whom to trust and to believe.
